FAQ
Q: What does the ‘0’ mean in 0Stella mean?
A: The zero stands for Zero Waste living.
Q: How did you come up with the There is N0 0ther tour idea?
A: In the first two years as an emerging artist, I had to fly across Canada to tour and showcase. By summer 2020 everyone was remarking on the clean skies due to reduced air travel. Since my name stands for sustainability I felt I could do a better job to advocate for it. I was invited to France for an artist residency commencing autumn 2022, so I took the opportunity to limit myself to only one transatlantic flight and do the rest of the travel using a sprinter van converted into a mobile stage, cycling and public transit. When the residency got postponed to 2023 because of the pandemic, I decided to commit to doing this tour with just my bicycle to bring music to people while committing to the Zero Waste living.
Q: When does this tour start and where?
A: On April 15 in Victoria, BC. From there I will be traveling east and taking the Trans Canada Trail a lot of the way.
Q: What do you need to embark on a bicycle tour as a musician?
A: I have a hybrid bike-packing bike that I purchased from Revolution Cycle in Edmonton, Alberta. The one wheel Bob trailer that attaches to the back of my bike has been modified with an extra rack on the top to accommodate my guitar.
Q: How can people support your journey?
A: People can go to the Tour button on the front page of 0Stella.com and donate to buy me a meal, help with repairs or donate for a night in an AirBnB. There are also pre-sale tiers available which come with personal 0Stella shows, digital album packs and custom-written songs for fans who want to support in a bigger way. Small businesses like camping and bike shops can also book me for concerts or workshops by emailing thereisn00thertour@gmail.com . Alternatively if you click on the New Releases button on the homepage, you can follow me on your favourite streaming service or Bandcamp. From there you can play and share my music which is also really valuable to an independent artist.
Q: How do you get power for things when you’re not cycling?
A: I use solar panels on days off. I hang my LightSaver Max panel in front of the top of my tent. That combined with the power collected while I’m riding from my PedalCell allows me to recharge my devices including my USB rechargeable guitar.
Q: Are there dates for the There is N0 0ther tour?
A: This tour is unlike any other tour. Traditional venues are challenging to book with a completely unpredictable cycling schedule. I will be doing pop-up shows in major cities when I arrive and all of my mailing list subscribers are notified before the public, allowing them the first chance to book me for a house concert.
Q: Where is the end goal for the cycling tour?
A: All the way to Halifax. I expect to be finished by the end of September.
